Position Overview

As the  Finance Officer at Asia Engine For Net Zero Institute, Inc. (AENZ), you will be responsible for overseeing financial management, grant and fund administration, compliance, and risk assessment. Your role will involve maintaining financial transparency, managing transactions, and ensuring proper financial oversight of project budgets.

This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as experience in financial management within the non-profit sector.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial systems and protocols to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Conduct regular financial audits and risk assessments.
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Manage financial transactions, including invoicing, expenses, and reimbursements.
  • Work closely with external auditors for annual audits.

 

Grants and Fund Management:

  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and funding applications, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and track grant expenditures, providing detailed reports to donors.
  • Implement effective fund allocation strategies to optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with program managers to ensure proper financial oversight of project budgets.

 

Compliance, Reporting, and Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local laws, regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit timely financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with legal and financial advisors to stay updated on changes in financial regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for financial processes, ensuring clarity and consistency.

 

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess financial risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and implement necessary financial management improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years proven experience in financial management, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Familiarity with Philippine financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including MS Office and financial management tools.
  • Can work in a hybrid setting, and is amenable to working in person at Ortigas Center, Pasig, in Metro Manila.

Reporting

The Administrative and Finance Officer will report directly to the AENZ’s Founding Director and Executive Director.

Location

This position offers a hybrid setup with a minimum of three office workdays.
