Position Overview

As the Associate for Corporate and Industrial Decarbonization at Asia Engine for Net Zero Institute, Inc. (AENZ), you will play a pivotal role in advancing corporate and industrial decarbonization strategies as part of AENZ’s work in supporting an inclusive, responsive, and sustainable energy transition. This role focuses on supporting supply chain companies, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Southeast Asia, particularly in the Philippines and Vietnam, to achieve Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions reductions through clean energy adoption, capacity building, and strategic engagement.

 

You will collaborate closely with corporate and industrial partners, government agencies, and other key stakeholders to design and implement decarbonization solutions, organize training programs, and monitor progress to ensure alignment with AENZ’s mission to accelerate the transition to a net-zero future.

Key Responsibilities

Decarbonization Strategy and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement strategies to help SMEs achieve Scope 1, 2, and 3 decarbonization.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to SMEs, particularly in key sectors like Textiles and Food & Beverage, to enable clean energy adoption and emissions reductions.
  • Lead capacity-building initiatives, including training programs, workshops, and knowledge-sharing activities, to advance industrial and corporate decarbonization efforts.
  • Support SMEs in navigating barriers to decarbonization, such as financing, technology adoption, and policy challenges.

 

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with industry associations, corporate partners, and government agencies to drive collective action and ensure scalability of decarbonization solutions.
  • Facilitate webinars, workshops, and training programs to share knowledge and best practices on corporate sustainability, supply chain decarbonization, and emissions reduction.
  • Represent AENZ in external stakeholder engagements to position the organization as a leader in corporate decarbonization initiatives.

 

Policy and Market Research:

  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of decarbonization initiatives and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of knowledge products, reports, and case studies showcasing best practices in corporate decarbonization.
  • Stay updated on developments in the energy transition landscape in Southeast Asia, including policies, financing mechanisms, and technological innovations.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for scaling corporate net-zero solutions.
  • Provide technical inputs to policy advocacy efforts to support renewable energy adoption and decarbonization in the corporate sector.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate sustainability, decarbonization, or supply chain management.
  • Experience in implementing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions reduction strategies.
  • Understanding of corporate decarbonization frameworks and carbon accounting standards.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including SMEs, industry leaders, and government representatives.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver objectives within set timelines and budgets.
  • Familiarity with the energy transition landscape in Southeast Asia is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Reporting

The Associate for Corporate and Industrial Decarbonization will report directly to the AENZ’s Founding Director or Executive Director as may be most appropriate.

Location

This position offers a hybrid setup with a minimum of two office workdays.
