Asia Agrivoltaics Initiative

First initiative under theFinance Mobilization engine.
AENZ will take part on this initiative as an implementing partner.

Challenges

PH Energy Transition may encroach on food.
Nexus interventions, such as agrivoltaics, face finance mobilization challenges due to novelty of approach.

Interventions

Collaborative agrivoltaics knowledge exchange platform with learning from overseas experience, including China & US.
Engage high trust actors, to develop a portfolio of 10MW agrivoltaics projects.

Impact

Create knowledge base on agrivoltaics with a wider set of stakeholders.
Create pathways for mobilizing finance for a target of 1GW by 2030.

Declining bank compliance, often below mandatory lending, choosing penaltiesover requirements.

Define benefits of the revised Agri-Agra for SME banks partnerships.
Co-create an MOU framework for clear roles and benefits in agreements with SME banks

Impact

Increase the capacity of smaller players like SME banks.
Increase sustainable finance opportunities for agriculture and RE sectors.

Expanding the available modes of compliance with requirements to finance the agricultural sector will promote funding for green finance projects, income-generating activities, and public infrastructure projects, to the benefit of the rural agrarian reform and agricultural sector.

New Energy and Climate Professionals

Develop and deploy a new set of energy finance professionals who can take on significant leadership roles in sustainable finance and energy transition.

Will serve as a platform where new graduates and professionals can learn, network, and work in the energy and climate field.

Shortage of new professionals in the energy and climate field, especially involving finance and corporate engagement, which constraint further support for RE projects.

Interventions

Launch a web-based upskilling platform
Develop and deploy a new set of energy finance professionals who can take on significant leadership roles in sustainable finance and energy transition.

Promotion and continuity of advocacy among young people.
Expand stakeholders engaged for energy transition (local governments, corporations, etc).
